WCSC Eases Pandemic Precautions With Start of Organized Racing and Post-Event Gathering

Friday Dinghy Night 2020

After practicing shelter at home for almost all of the Spring, organized racing will be held at the Club with the 2020 Friday Dinghy Night series, beginning tonight. This series was popular last Summer, drawing participation equal to that of the CB and KB fleets. The majority of the boats were Force 5s, but Lasers, Sunfish, Hobie 16s, Wetas, and a few other classes attended.
Participation will be slightly different this Summer, as the Club is requiring safe health practices. From the event coordinator, Eric Seymour:

"On the water we have enough distance between us so that we can be in compliance with the guidelines and on shore we ask that the distancing guidelines be adhered to.  If you do not feel well, have a cough and/or have a fever, please stay home.  Masks have been suggested but are not required.

For the after social, it will be BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage) and if you want pizza, you will need to let me know what kind of pizza you want before we go out. The last time I checked Dominos, they had a Medium 2 Topping Pizza deal going for $5.72.  Basically, I will get the orders together and order them all at one time.  We will then have the delivery driver separate the boxes out on a table in the club house and all you will have to do is pay me for the pizza and pick up the box."

At this time (Wed pm), weather looks questionable for Friday. If we abandon racing before 4:00 PM on Friday, I will post the abandonment on the Website Home Page by 4:00PM.
