Diva Regatta Recap
Saturday May 4, 2019 was a great day at WCSC. We had 26 boats on the water for the Distance Course and 4 Juniors out racing around the point. We had a total of 170 participants/volunteers/sponsors out this weekend.  We also had about 12 ladies on various boats who have never been sailing. The most exciting part is $26,777 was raised for Safe Harbor. That is almost $7,000 more than our goal and $10,000 more than last year.

We had to get creative with our awards this year due to a massive storm coming through causing the race to be abandoned to get everyone back safe. Fun was still had back at the clubhouse thanks to our DJ, Nantahala Beer on Tap, and Ruarks famous daiquiris.
For those who didn’t attend or have social media, the winning of the Golf Cart is Chris Zofchak from Ohio. Sorry for all those that hoped to win, but just save up for next year I believe we will have another one.

I am in awe of how the Diva Regatta is continuing to build in support and participation from more than just WCSC but also sailors from OH, GA, FL, NC and the Upstate.
