Membership Dues, fees and other details

As a family club, WCSC provides sailing, instructional, and social activities everyone can enjoy. WCSC is not a yacht club. It is a non-profit sailing club that is managed solely by the membership. Part of the membership responsibility is to provide 10 hours of 'Fairshare' annually that support the club and activities. Members are also responsible for helping with Race Management for one race a year.

Note: If you want a tour or want to see the club, your first step is to fill out the online application and the membership team will contact you.

Each prospective new member must provide the following to be considered for membership

1. Fill out the online application and submit it to WCSC membership team. Membership team will contact you to discuss your membership application.

2. Prospective member must fill out, sign and send in the Lease Agreement and Insurance Statement to membership@wcsc-sailing.org. This is required regardless of whether the prospective member will be storing any equipment on the WCSC grounds. The Lease and Insurance documents must be in a single PDF file (Use your iPhone to create the PDF scan).

3. Prospective member will send in a biography to introduce themselves via the quarterly newsletter with a picture included.  Information desired would include the names of those in your family, sailing experience, what you look forward to do at the club - race, social events, club boats, and/or cruising - and what boat, if any, you'll be storing at the club.  Send this to membership@wcsc-sailing.org as well.  You can find examples by viewing the current newsletter, The Windsong, which you can find on the Home Page of this website.

4. Once the above documents have been received, the prospective member will then pay the initiation, dues and any other fees required.

5. After payment, the Membership Committee will contact the prospective member and invite them to the next scheduled New Member Orientation Meeting, which is typically held once a month.

Explanation of dues and fees

A check or online payment covering your first quarter dues and your initiation fee and any fees for storage options that you select will be required prior to the New Member Orientation Meeting.  After becoming a member, WCSC provides for online invoicing and payments. Sign up is on the club website once a member has completed the orientation.

When a member reaches the age for the next membership class, he/she will be obligated for the difference in the initiation fee already paid and that for the new class.
