Hello again WCSC,
As we are all fully aware, we continue to learn more about the Coronavirus COVID-19. The situation remains, in a word, fluid. We have all learned terms like “Social Distancing”, “flatten the curve” N-95 mask, among other things.
Earlier this month, we postponed all of the social events for March thinking that we may be able to continue as normal in April. It appears that hope was a bit optimistic. Yesterday, the Governor put additional restrictions in place, including giving the police the ability to disperse groups larger than 3 people.
So, in a further and continuing effort to protect our membership as much as possible, we have decided to do the following effective immediately:
ALL events scheduled in April will be postponed until a later date. This includes the following:
April 4: Keelboat Fleet Meeting
Spring Fling Waldrops Dinner Cruise
Keelboat Race 3
April 5: Centerboard Race 3
April 14: Board of Stewards Meeting (Will be held by teleconference)
April 18: Adult Learn to Sail
Dam Distance Race
April 19: Keelboat 4
April 23: Adult Learn to Sail
April 25: Work Day 2
Adult Learn to Sail
Inspiring New Sailors Cruise with Cookout
Force 5 Cinco De Mayo Regatta
April 26: Adult Learn to sail
Force 5 Cinco De Mayo Regatta
Further, please pay attention to the following:
The Club will remain open for recreational use.
- If you use the clubhouse, please try to keep the group size under 3 to 4 people and clean it when you are done.
- I suggest we don’t use the kitchen facilities, however, if you do, please clean it thoroughly. If you don’t have cleaning supplies, don’t use it. We can’t guarantee the Club will have the needed supplies.
I want everyone to know I am watching this situation very closely and will update all of the members if anything changes or if an opportunity arises to shorten these restrictions. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
