Bloody Mary 2019 Recap

   Congratulations to Brad Russell and Joe Hart for winning the Bloody Mary Regatta this weekend at the Western Carolina Sailing Club. Twenty-four teams traveled to upstate South Carolina and were treated to a sunny but chilly Fall weekend. Although there was very little wind Saturday morning the forecast was spot on as a W-SW breeze filled in just before the scheduled start time and fluctuated from 5 - 10 the rest of the day. The fleet must have been surprised and a bit anxious to capitalize as there were four general recalls before we finally got the first race underway.
     The racing was tight and it was difficult to recover from a bad start or decision. The RC was wise to run four races on Saturday as the forecast for Sunday proved true and no further races were sailed. Brad and Joe demonstrated amazing consistency in the shifty conditions to secure the victory.
      Thank you to the entire race committee team, led by PRO Tommy Craft, as well as all of the participants for supporting the Bloody Mary Regatta and Western Carolina Sailing Club!
