Championship Regatta


This year, we are proud to present the 2019 WCSC Championship Regatta on March 23rd and 24th. Six teams will fight to be named the Club Champion! The Flying Scot fleet at WCSC has graciously provided boats for our contenders to sail, and it will be done round robin style, meaning each team will switch boats after every race. The Championship Race will be a two day event this year to offer more opportunity for sailing and racing. We are also excited to announce we will be live streaming the entire regatta via YouTube! A projector will be placed at the club house where you can watch the racing live by the warm fire place! I am encouraging all members, racers, friends and family to come watch and support our contenders! 
 
Saturday evening we will be having the Vice Commodore's dinner following racing! Everyone is invited and there is no fee but a headcount prior to the dinner is required for planning purposes! Please visit the website to register for the dinner under the Club Championship event on the calendar. 

This year's contenders are:

  • Marc Bailey- Representing PHRF A Fleet
  • Brian Hampton- Representing PHRF B Fleet
  • Ronnie Ashmore- Representing Centerboard Fleet
  • John Barnard- Representing Cruising Fleet
  • George Masson- Challanger
  • OPEN- Challenger 
                                                            If you want to fill the final slot of challenger for this year's club championship, please email                                                               Alex Bolan at sailmaster200@gmail.com to throw your name in the hat. The challenger will be
                pulled at random to ensure fairness. The deadline for submission is March 10th. 

Mike Harrison:

            As we all know, Mike Harrison left us too soon last year. Mike was a huge part of the 2018 Club Championship event. He provided sails, hardware, and sweat to help make last year's event possible. The picture above is Mike and his crew Bruce sailing in last year's event. Mike placed 2nd for the event. Starting this year, the WCSC Championship Regatta will now be known as the Mike Harrison Club Championship Regatta. We will miss Mike and his  passion for sailing, so let's carry on his passion by participating and supporting our teams.
