We have new members to enjoy getting to know. Bruce and Allegra Campbell attended their orientation on Friday, April 27. They sail a Com-Pac Sun Cat, a 17-foot catboat. Bruce describes himself as primarily a cruising/gunkholing sailor. He’s interested in belonging to an organization with interests similar to his and in participating in sailing and social events with other sailors. Allegra has crewed on some big boats and is interested in getting a ride in the keelboat fleet (skippers take note). Their sailing history includes sailing a Catalina 22 on Biscayne Bay for twenty years and a Sturdy Cat on San Francisco Bay for ten. Both are retired. Allegra worked in pharmaceuticals and Bruce was an avionics line mechanic first for Eastern Air Lines and later for United. They come from New Jersey originally, but were married in Fort Lauderdale, lived there for 23 years, and were members of the Coconut Grove Sailing Club before moving to San Francisco. Allegra counts gardening and Tai Chi among her hobbies. Bruce is a member of VFW and the American Legion.
Keep an eye out for them when you’re at the club and make sure they know we’re happy to have them with us. Lake’s pretty near full, ain’t that grand? See you on the water.
